THE CREW
Bigger is better and first prize is your own room with flatmates that get your vibe. The Crew is approximately a 92m², 4-bedroom unit, each bedroom with either a single bed or ¾ bed, desk, cupboards, and en-suite bathroom, the 4 residents share the living area and kitchenette. THE TRIO
Tired of going Solo? Don’t stress, with the Trio you can share with friends and still have your own space.
The Trio is a 74m, 3-bedroom unit, with most units having 2 bedrooms with double beds and 1 room with a ¾ bed. Each bedroom has a desk, cupboards and en-suite bathroom, the 3 residents then share the living area and kitchenette. Click here for details.

Q: CAN I SHARE MYSPACE WITH A FRIEND?
MySpace is designed with community in mind, and we have a variety of sharing options. Your friend and you will both apply to MySpace and capture each other’s name on the application form, and we will take it from there.
Q: WHAT COMES WITH MY ROOM?
Every room is thoughtfully designed and completely furnished, including bed, headboard, bedside light, desk, fridge (sizes vary), two plate induction hob, microwave and built in cupboards. Some rooms have a café table with chairs and even a smart TV. You’ll also enjoy free, uncapped WiFi, and a cleaning service once a week.
Q: WHEN DOES THE LEASE START AND END?
Our lease period starts on 15 January and ends on 15 December.
Q: WHO COMMUNICATES WITH WHOM?
MySpace communicates with the resident. Residents can either email MySpace on hello@myspaceres.co.za or Whatsapp. Please clearly state in your message your full name, unit number and building you reside in.
For ease of communication regarding maintenance in particular, residents can log a maintenance request on the portal (go under My Room).
We are not able to communicate with parents as well as the residents and we ask that parents encourage the resident to communicate with MySpace.
Q: WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE MYSPACE?
MySpace is so much more than just accommodation. MySpace gives you community and independence, and at the same time offers great security. It’s an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy living in style, in Stellenbosch!
Q: CAN I REQUEST TO MOVE TO ANOTHER ROOM AFTER I HAVE MOVED IN?
No moving to another room can be done in the first 3 (three) months of the lease period. There is a R1,000 admin fee for a new lease. You can go on a waiting list for another room type and will be offered a room when/if one that you would like comes available. Moving of rooms is at the discretion of MySpace.
Q: MAY I HAVE VISITORS
Sure, but there are a few rules in place to protect everyone. You’re responsible for your guest’s behaviour while they’re at MySpace.
There are visitors’ hours in alignment with our quiet times and it is preferred that you entertain your visitors in the ample sized common area of the building.
Q: WHAT ARE THE MYSPACE CONDUCT RULES?

Q: HOW DO I STAY UP TO DATE WITH MYSPACE EVENTS AND NEWS?
MySpace has a portal that makes it easy for us to communicate with residents.
Q: WILL MYSPACE HOST EVENTS?
Yes, we do have some fun stuff planned throughout the year! We’ll communicate the details on the MySpace Instagram page and/or the MySpace Portal.
Q: WHAT IF I CAN’T GET INTO MY ROOM?
You can contact security. You’ll find the number under Emergency Numbers.
Q: HOW DO I REPORT MAINTENANCE ISSUES?
You can log a maintenance request via the MySpace Portal.
Q: IS THERE EMERGENCY POWER?
The Campus buildings are equipped with a generator, which covers the common areas of the buildings, as well as Phase 1 rooms at Paradys.

Q: DO I NEED TO MOVE OUT AT THE END OF THE LEASE PERIOD?
Yes, you need to move out before or on your lease end date. MySpace utilises the time between leases (15 December to 15 January) for maintenance and deep cleaning.
Q: DOES MYSPACE OFFER STORAGE?
No, we do not offer storage. Please consult the internet for off-site storage options.
Q: HOW DO I APPLY FOR A ROOM?
- Apply online following the Apply prompts, and pay the application fee, then verify your email.
- The resident sets up a profile on the portal (this includes a clear head & shoulders profile photo, this connects to the biometric entry system and the electronic lodging agreement). Please note that the portal is for use by the resident only (Not the guarantor/parent)
- Upload the requested supporting documents, this includes bank statements from your parent/guarantor. Should they have any queries on this requirement, they can email hello@myspaceres.co.za.
- We will contact you should we require any further documentation from you or your guarantor.
- Once the application is approved and we are ready to assign a room, we do this electronically and you should receive an email from our system when this is done. An application can only be approved once all of the required documents have been submitted.
- The lease is initiated and sent electronically, both the resident and guarantor will receive a link to sign, please sign individually and as soon as possible after receipt of the email.
- Please do not download the lease from the signing system, the lease MUST be signed on the platform you / your guarantor are directed to.
- Your lease will be complete once all parties have signed
- A copy of the concluded lease is available from the resident’s portal

Q: WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO APPLY?
You’ll need the following documents:
- Applicants ID or passport
- Guarantors ID or passport
- Guarantor’s proof of residence
- Guarantor’s 3 months bank statements (to show there is affordability for the rental)
- Proof of Banking details (for return of deposit)
- Proof of provisional acceptance / acceptance / registration at a tertiary institution
Q: WHO APPLIES?
The resident (student) applies and completes their information. Please ensure that the correct email address and contact number is captured for the resident and the guarantor (the same email address CANNOT be used for both).
Q: WHAT DO I PAY WITH MY APPLICATION?
You’ll pay a non-refundable application fee. If we’re not able to offer you accommodation, we’ll refund the fee.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW MY APPLICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED?
Our system is electronic, the applicant will receive emails from MySpace confirming your application has been submitted / received. You will be guided throughout the process regarding setting up a profile and uploading the supporting documentation, up and to and including signing the electronic lease.
Q: MY APPLICATION WAS SUCCESSFUL, WHAT’S NEXT?
We will confirm whether the room type applied for is available. We will assign a room and initiate the electronic lodging agreement (which then needs to be signed by both the resident and the guarantor). The link to sign the lease is emailed to the resident AND guarantor and each party is to sign the lease separately from each other.
Your room is secured after you have paid the deposit and first payment due.
Q: HOW DO I SECURE A PARTICULAR ROOM?
Prospective residents may choose a unit type. MySpace allocates rooms/units based on availability.
The quickest way to ensure you get your preferred room type is to send in all the necessary documents when requested, sign the full lodging agreement and make the necessary payments.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW WHICH ROOM I HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED?
We will assign you a room and you will receive an email to this effect.
We’ll be in contact to let you know if we are not able to allocate the room type applied for and we will offer alternatives.
Q: TIPS FOR SECURING A ROOM
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible. We open applications from June in the year preceding the year of study.
Q: WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT TERMS?

Q: WHEN IS MY FIRST RENTAL PAYMENT DUE?

Q: HOW DO I PAY?
Payment is done by EFT to the banking details that we can send by email, or you can wait for an invoice and then pay immediately.
Q: HOW DOES THE WHOLE PROCESS WORK?
You’ll need to:
- Pay the application fee upon application.
- Pay the deposit of one month’s rent.
- Pay the first payment of rental depending upon the payment term chosen & agreed to with MySpace. We will confirm the amount with you. You can also calculate this as the annual rental plus parking rental, divided by the payment term. Banking details are on the 1stpage of the Lodging agreement.
- The deposit and first payment (of 2 or 4) or the upfront payment is to be made by 1 December.
Q: WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BOOK A CHECK-IN DATE?
We need to connect you to the biometric system to ensure you have access to the building and an inspection of the room is to be done. Setting you up for your new building takes time, book your slot well in advance so we know when to expect you.
Q: HOW TO BOOK YOUR CHECK-IN:

Q: WHEN CAN I CHECK IN?
We look forward to welcoming you from 15 January.
Please note that pre-booked check-ins are only done during working hours, during the week. No weekends check ins are permitted.
Q: WHEN DO I NEED TO CHECK OUT?
Prior to or on the termination date in your Lodging Agreement.
Q: HOW DO I SCHEDULE A CHECK-OUT INSPECTION?
Book the check-out inspection on the MySpace portal. If you book a date and then need to change it, please email hello@myspaceres.co.za
Q: WHY DO I NEED TO ATTEND A CHECK-OUT INSPECTION?
A joint inspection with MySpace is needed to ensure that both parties are represented.
Q: WHEN WILL MY DEPOSIT BE REFUNDED?
Once your check-out inspection has been signed off, your deposit will be refunded within 21 working days after the termination date of your Lodging Agreement, or in a reasonable time thereafter.
Q: I LOVE LIVING AT MYSPACE, HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR?
We will communicate with the resident when re-applications are open.

The following is included in the room fee, please make sure you are satisfied with our offer. Extras can’t be requested after the fact.
- Fully furnished room (note that furniture and inventory may differ, dependant on room type & building)
- Appliances: Induction hob, fridge (sizes differ per room / building), microwave, kettle, TV (in some rooms)
- Electricity and water included (fair usage applies)
- Uncapped WiFi (up to 20Mbps line speed, with the option to upgrade)

Q: WHAT’S IN THE ROOM?
Rooms are provided with the items as listed on the room rates document. Bed and fridge sizes may differ, room inventory may differ.
Q: WHAT ADDITIONS DO I APPLY FOR?
Anything other than what MySpace supplies, must be applied for. Each room is supplied with marked furniture and no swopping of said furniture is permitted.

Q: CAN I UPGRADE ANY OF THE FACILITIES?
You’re welcome to upgrade the Wi-Fi at your own cost.
Q: HOW DO COURIER DELIVERIES WORK AT MYSPACE?
You are responsible to sign for your own deliveries, MySpace cannot accept responsibility for 3rd party deliveries.
Q: IS THERE A GYM?
Most MySpace Campus residence haves a well-equipped in-house gym. Don’t forget to complete your health-check before using the Gym.
Q: WILL MY ROOM BE CLEANED?
Our cleaning professionals will ensure your floors, walls, bathroom and surfaces are cleaned with care, each week. Personal items (linen & dishes) are to be attended to by the Resident.
Q: NEED ADDITIONAL CLEANING?
A resident may request additional cleaning at their own cost from the MySpace service provider only.
Q: IS PARKING AVAILABLE?
@Paradys has dedicated open parking and covered parking.
@Dorp has dedicated covered parking.
@Drostdy has dedicated basement parking.
@Paradys and @Dorp can utilise a non-dedicated parking bay @Drostdy at a fee.
