THE DUO is a 48m², 2 bedroom unit with en-suite bathrooms, a desk, a shared kitchenette and is suitable for 2 residents. The Duo’s at Paradys have a different layout to the above, please see the room rates documents for the layout plan. Click here for details.

Q: CAN I SHARE MYSPACE WITH A FRIEND
MySpace is designed with community in mind and we have a bunch of sharing options. Want to share a room – check out The Bunker. The Twin allows for sharing with a bit of privacy. Need own space but love having a flatmate – the The Duo / The Trio / The Crew was made for you!
Q: WHAT COMES WITH MY ROOM?
Every room is thoughtfully designed and completely furnished, including bed, desk, fridge, two plate induction hob, microwave and built in cupboards. Some rooms have a café table with chairs and even a smart TV. You’ll also enjoy free, uncapped WiFi, Netflix mobile and a cleaning service once a week.
Q: HOW DO I ACCESS MY ROOM?
The entrance to the building, as well as the individual rooms uses biometric access, keeping you safe and secure.
Q: WHO COMMUNICATES WITH WHOM?
MySpace communicates with the resident. Residents can either email MySpace on hello@myspaceres.co.za or Whatsapp, clearly stating in the subject line their full name, building and room number.
For ease of communication regarding maintenance in particular, residents can log a maintenance request on the portal (go under My Room).
We are not able to communicate with parents as well as the residents and we ask that parents encourage the resident to communicate with MySpace.
Q: WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE MYSPACE?
MySpace is so much more than an apartment building. It’s a home from home that gives you community and independence at the same time. It’s an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy living in style, in Stellenbosch!
Q: MAY I HAVE VISITORS
Sure, but there are a few rules in place to protect everyone. You’re responsible for your guest’s behaviour while they’re at MySpace.

Q: HOW DO I STAY UP TO DATE WITH MYSPACE EVENTS AND NEWS?
MySpace has a portal that makes it easy for us to communicate with residents.
Q: WILL MYSPACE HOST EVENTS?
Yes, we do have some fun stuff planned throughout the year! We’ll communicate the details on the MySpace Instagram page and/or the MySpace Portal.
Q: WHAT IF I CAN’T GET INTO MY ROOM?
You can contact the 24/7 security or the Operation Manager. You’ll find their numbers under Emergency Numbers.
Q: HOW DO I REPORT MAINTENANCE ISSUES?

Q: HOW DO I APPLY FOR A ROOM?
- Apply online following the Apply prompts, and pay the application fee
- The resident sets up a profile on the portal (this includes a clear head & shoulders profile photo, this connects to the biometric entry system and the electronic lodging agreement). Please note that the portal is for use by the resident only (Not the guarantor/parent)
- Upload the requested supporting docs
- We will contact you should we require any further documentation from you or your guarantor
- Once the application is approved and we are ready to assign a room, we do this electronically and you should receive an email from our system when this is done
- The lease is initiated and sent electronically, both the resident and guarantor will receive a link to sign, please sign individually and as soon as possible after receipt of the email
- Your lease will be complete once all parties have signed
- A copy of the concluded lease is available from the resident’s portal
Q: WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO APPLY?
You’ll need the following documents:
- Copy of the applicant’s ID or passport
- Copy of the guarantor’s ID or passport and proof of residence
- Proof of registration at a tertiary academic institution or proof of employment / income
- Confirmation of bursary letter (if applicable)
- 3 months bank statements / account(s) to prove affordability
Q: WHO APPLIES?
The resident (student) applies and completes their information. Please ensure that the correct email address is used for the resident and the guarantor (the same email address CANNOT be used).
Q: WHAT DO I PAY WITH MY APPLICATION?
You’ll pay a R650 non-refundable application fee. (If we’re not able to offer you accommodation, we’ll refund the fee.)
Q: HOW DO I KNOW MY APPLICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED?
Our system is electronic, you should receive emails confirming your application has been submitted / received. You will be guided throughout the process regarding setting up a profile and uploading the supporting documentation, up and to and including signing the electronic lease.
Q: MY APPLICATION WAS SUCCESSFUL, WHAT’S NEXT?
We will confirm whether your room type is available. We will assign a room and initiate the electronic lodging agreement (which then needs to be signed by both the resident and the guarantor). The link to sign the lease is emailed to the resident AND guarantor and each party is to sign the lease separately from each other.
In order to secure your room, you will need to sign the Lodging Agreement and pay the deposit and first payment due.
Q: HOW DO I SECURE A PARTICULAR ROOM?
The quickest way to ensure you get your preferred room type is to send in all the necessary documents when requested, sign the full lodging agreement and make the necessary payments.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW WHICH ROOM I HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED?
We’ll be in contact to let you know if we are not able to allocate the room type applied for and we will offer alternatives.

Q: HOW DOES THE WHOLE PROCESS WORK?
You’ll need to:
- Pay the admin fee of R650 upon application
- Pay the deposit of one month’s rent
- Pay the first payment of rental depending upon the payment term chosen & agreed to with MySpace. We will confirm the amount with you. You can also calculate this as the annual rental plus parking rental, divided by the payment term. Banking details are on the 1st page of the Lodging agreement.
- The deposit and first payment (of 2 or 4) or the upfront payment is to be made prior to the resident checking-in.
Q: WHEN CAN I CHECK IN?
Once your application is successful and you have signed the Lodging Agreement, paid the deposit and first payment, you can book the check in on the portal. Note that check-in’s are done in office hours and not on the weekends.
Q: WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BOOK A CHECK-IN DATE?
We need to connect you to the biometric system to ensure you have access to the building and an inspection of the room is to be done.
Q: WHEN DO I NEED TO CHECK OUT?
Prior to or on the termination date in your Lodging Agreement.
Q: HOW DO I SCHEDULE A CHECK-OUT INSPECTION?
Please arrange this by contacting MySpace.
Q: WHY DO I NEED TO ATTEND A CHECK-OUT INSPECTION?
We need to check that there aren’t any damaged or lost items in your room before we can refund your deposit. If you do not schedule a check out inspection or attend the booked inspection, we will conduct the check-out in your absence.
Q: WHEN WILL MY DEPOSIT BE REFUNDED?
Once your check-out inspection has been signed off, your deposit will be refunded within 21 working days after the termination date of your Lodging Agreement, or in a reasonable time thereafter.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY YEAR IS OVER? CAN I RENEW AND STAY IN THE SAME ROOM?
Please let us know as early as possible that you’d like to stay on for the next year and we’ll do our best to give you the same room.
MySpace have the following criteria in place when it comes to renewing for the following year:
- The rental account must be up to date and no amount in arrears.
- The resident will be reviewed in accordance with the Conduct Rules, on their general conduct, any damages, and on the rental payment history. Renewal of a lease will be at MySpace’s discretion.

The following is included in the room fee, please make sure you are satisfied with our offer. Extras can’t be requested after the fact.

Rooms are provided with the items as listed on the room rates document.
No additional items are permitted to be added, including the addition of furniture and major appliances. No swopping of items will be permitted. Rooms are let on an ‘as is’ basis.
Q: CAN I UPGRADE ANY OF THE FACILITIES?
You’re welcome to upgrade the WiFi at your own cost.
Q: HOW DO COURIER DELIVERIES WORK AT MYSPACE?
You are responsible to sign for your own deliveries, MySpace cannot accept responsibility for 3rd party deliveries.
Q: IS THERE A GYM?
Each MySpace Campus residence has a well-equipped in-house gym.
MyGym rules: Replace equipment when done with training, use a sweat towel and be courteous when operating heavy weights after hours.
Q: CAN I ORDER FOOD FROM THE DELI TO HAVE IN MY ROOM?
Yes, you are welcome to collect your order from the deli and eat in your room.
Q: WILL MY ROOM BE CLEANED?
Our cleaning professionals will ensure your floors, walls, bathroom and surfaces are cleaned with care, each week. Personal items (linen & dishes) are to be attended to by the Resident.
We also request the resident to pick up items on the floor before their scheduled clean, so that our professional cleaning company can attend to the cleaning of the unit in the allotted time.
Q: IS PARKING AVAILABLE AND WHAT DOES IT COST?
@Paradys has dedicated open parking and covered parking.
@Dorp has dedicated covered parking.
@Drostdy has dedicated basement parking.
@Paradys and @Dorp can utilise a non-dedicated parking bay @Drostdy at a fee.
