Can I request to move to another room after I have moved in?
No moving to another room can be done in the first 3 (three) months of the lease period.
You can go on a waiting list for another room type and will be offered a room when/if one that you would like comes available. Moving of rooms is at the discretion of My Space.

The Solo Bunker is a 24m² studio unit with a single loft bed with spacious built-in desk, 2-seater couch, desk, cupboards, en-suite bathroom and kitchenette, and is suitable for 1 resident. No sharing permitted.

Need your own space but enjoy having a flatmate?
The Duo is a 48m², 2 private bedroom unit with either a Double Bed or Loft Bed with en-suite bathrooms, a desk, cupboard, a shared kitchenette and is suitable for 2 residents.
THE CREW
Bigger is better and first prize is your own private room with flatmates that get your vibe. The Crew is approximately a 92m², 4-bedroom unit, each bedroom with either a single bed or ¾ bed, desk, cupboards, and en-suite bathroom, the 4 residents share the living area and kitchenette.
THE CREW PREMIUM (Drostdy)
Bigger is better and first prize is your own private room with flatmates that get your vibe. How do I view a room?
Tenanted rooms are not always available for viewings.
Go to our Contact page scroll down and ask to view a room, all tenants require a minimum of 48 working hours’ notice, so you can view their room.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
When lodger cancels after payment 1 but before 1 September (the year before lease commencement)
Cancellation Penalty: No cancellation penalty is applicable
Administration Fee: R3,500.00 – non-refundable
Refund: Only the balance of the payments received are refundable after the deduction of the Administration Fee.When the lodger cancels after 1 September but before 1 December (The year before the lease commencement)
Cancellation Penalty: R5,000.00
Administration Fee: R3,500.00 – non-refundable
Refund: Only the balance of payments are refundable after the deduction of the Cancellation Penalty and Administration Fee.Prior to the commencement date of the accommodation agreement
Cancellation Penalty: R5,000.00- if the lodger finds a suitable replacement (vetted by My Space) for the contracted Accommodation Period.
After the commencement date of the accommodation agreement
Cancelation Penalty: R5,000.00- If the lodger finds a suitable replacement (vetted by My Space) for the contracted accommodation period.
If not:
– 20- calendar day notice period will be payable
– 50% of the remaining total annual rental fees (after notice period)
Administration Fee: R3,500.00 – non-refundable
Refund: Only the balance of the payments received is refundable after deducting the Cancellation Penalty and the Administration Fee -
Is parking available?
@Paradys has dedicated open parking and covered parking.
@Dorp has dedicated covered parking.
@Drostdy has dedicated basement parking.All at an additional charge.

Will my room be cleaned?
Our cleaning professionals will ensure your floors, walls, bathroom and surfaces are cleaned with care, each week. Personal items (linen & dishes) are to be attended to by the Resident.

Need additional cleaning?
A resident may request additional cleaning at their own cost from the My Space service provider only.

Is there a gym?
All My Space Residence have a well-equipped in-house gym.

How do courier deliveries work at My Space?
You are responsible to sign for your own deliveries, My Space cannot accept responsibility for 3rd party deliveries

Do I need to move out at the end of my lease period?
Yes, you need to move out before or on your lease end date. My Space utilises the time between leases (15 December to 15 January) for maintenance and deep cleaning.

How do I report a maintenance issue?
You can log a maintenance request via the MySpace Portal.

What are My Space coduct rules?
You will find the Conduct Rules in the lease. Should you wish to review the Conduct Rules, please request this by emailing hello@myspaceres.co.za

May I have visitors?
Sure, but there are a few rules in place to protect everyone. You’re responsible for your guest’s behaviour while they’re at My Space. There are visitors’ hours in alignment with our quiet times, and it is preferred that you entertain your visitors in the ample sized common areas of the building.

Who communicates with whom?
My Space communicates with the resident. Residents can either email My Space on hello@myspaceres.co.za or call 0210070559. Please clearly state in your message your full name, unit number and building you reside in.
For ease of communication regarding maintenance in particular, residents can log a maintenance request on the student portal.
Should you have an enquiry about your application, wanting to apply or any other sales relates queries please contact applications@myspaceres.co.za or WhatsApp 0773650602.
We are not able to communicate with parents as well as the residents and we ask that parents encourage the resident to communicate with My Space.

When does the lease start and end?
Our lease period starts on 15 January and ends on 15 December.

I love living at My Space, how do I apply for the following year?
We will communicate with the resident when re-applications are open.

When will my deposit be refunded?
Once your check-out inspection has been signed off, your deposit will be refunded within 21 working days after the termination date of your Lodging Agreement.

Why do I need to attend my check-out inspection?
A joint inspection with MySpace is needed to ensure that both parties are represented.

When do I need to check-out?
Prior to or on the termination date in your Lodging Agreement.

When can I check-in?
We look forward to welcoming you from 15 January.
Please note that pre-booked check-ins are only done during working hours, during the week. No weekends check ins are permitted.

How to Book a check-in?
Please book your check-in on your My Space Portal. Need to change your check-in slot Email hello@myspaceres.co.za with the details of your booking.

Why is it so important to book a check-in date?
We need to connect you to the biometric system to ensure you have access to the building and an inspection of the room is to be done. Setting you up for your new building takes time, book your slot well in advance so we know when to expect you. If you do not arrive for your expected check-in and did not notify the office, we take this as a violation of your contract and it will therefore be terminated.

Whats in the room?
What’s in your Residence room:
Your own private air conditioner, bed, headboard, bedside table, desk, desk chair, fridge, microwave, kitchen bin, 2 plate induction hob with kettle. Rooms are provided with the items as listed on the room rates document. Bed and fridge sizes may differ, room inventory may differ. -
What does the rent cover?
The following is included in the room fee; please make sure you are satisfied with our offer. Extras can’t be requested after the fact.
- Semi-furnished room (note that furniture and inventory may differ, dependant on room type & building)
- Appliances: Induction hob, fridge (sizes differ per room / building), microwave, kettle, TV (in some rooms)
- Electricity and water included (fair usage applies for Residences only)
- Uncapped WiFi (up to 20Mbps line speed)
- Biometric access (For Residences Only)
- 24/7 security
